Telrad Pulser allows for variable speed on/off on Telrad reticle to allow very faint stars to be seen easily.

The pulser turns the reticle on and off at your chosen brightness level. It allows the Telrad user to use very faint stars for star hopping.
In the field, users report that the after image of the reticle in the eye allows one to point at a faint star fairly easily, and when the reticle pulses back on,
you get an immediate verification of pointing accuracy. Extending the battery life isn't really the reason for the pulser since battery life is already very long,
but it's a nice side benefit.
