With the 31mm, the unique 6-element design using four exotic glasses, maintains the contrast advancement of the Type 4s while achieving a true field area 82% larger than the 22mm Type 4! For example, a 12.5", f/4.5 scope with a Paracorr will deliver a 1.5 degree field (3 Moon diameters), at 53x with a 6mm exit pupil.

5 of 5 One Eyepiece To Rule Them All October 30, 2022
Reviewer: Greg from Phoenix
When the pineapple arrived I knew I made the right choice. It's massive and the views through this eyepiece are spectacular. I replaced the 35 Panoptic with this for my 8" dob and I have to say that the "Terminagler" does everything better. I do think the 35 Pan is a good eyepiece but the 31 is sharper, has more contrast, and has a much flatter field. It's an heirloom eyepiece. The standard for low power and one I'll hand down to the next generation.

5 of 5 Brilliant eyepiece March 4, 2020
Reviewer: Nof from Israel
I've had a chance to use this eyepiece on an ancient TV Pronto refractor that I traveled with recently and now back home with a 12" f5 Dobsonian. The views are brilliant, dimensional, colorful and crisp. And wide. I found myself switching off on large clusters with an ES 17 which is also brilliant and contrasty. Nice pair!

5 of 5 Excellent eyepiece shipped promptly!! December 23, 2019
Reviewer: Vishal Kasliwal from Sunnyvale, CA United States
The Nagler 31mm T5 is a great eyepiece for extremely wide field views. The 82 degree FOV is great for framing even the largest objects comfortably. Eye-relief is also good and I don't see kidney beans. Don shipped the eyepiece out to me promptly and I got it a day early!
