5 of 5 Great Accessory and Learning Tool December 27, 2021
Reviewer: Blake from Nova Scotia, Canada
While not a necessity, the SQM-L is a very useful tool for helping one understand viewing conditions better and finding the optimal viewing locations in their yard. Very easy and quick to use.

5 of 5 Very accurate September 19, 2021
Reviewer: Marty W. from Richmond, CA United States
I live and most often observe in urban/suburban skies.  I was curious just how polluted my skies are and how much better they get when I travel to darker skies.  The Unihedron SQM-L closely matches the reading predicted by lightpollutionmap.info for the two locations I have checked.  Easy to use, well built.

5 of 5 Cool product July 27, 2020
Reviewer: Zach from Los Angeles
I bought this device to get solid data about just how dark/bright my observing locations are, to compare my backyard in LA with a camping spot in the Sierra.  As you can imagine they were quite different and this device told me just how much!  Also, EyepieciesEtc got the product to me very quickly, which I appreciate.

5 of 5 ESSENTIAL tool for serious "scientific" observing October 5, 2019
Reviewer: Stephen R. Waldee from Ivins, UT
For four years I have been logging careful measurements of numerous sites in California and Utah; it's an eye-opening experience to get real, objective information, as opposed to the entirely fluctuating, varying personal impressions that are NEVER correlated with other observers or reliable over time.  Our local Ivins Night Sky Initiative is using these meters to do a scientific study, aiding the local city government and developers to employ beneficial, efficient night lighting that minimizes sky pollution: NUMBERS, carefully recorded and tabulated, impress public officials, who are never very impressed with 'narratives' by complaining astronomers!

5 of 5 New to me July 18, 2019
Reviewer: Rodney Post from Concord, CA United States
Bought this on a bit of a whim but am already seeing its value  comparing one site( my back yard) over many nights and eventually different seasons. I’m in a heavy suburban locale so 18.5-19.5 readings are typical. The higher readings being past midnight.
Easy to use and it will come with me on my dark site treks from now on. Maybe just keep it in the car!
