The high-performance XW-series optics incorporates high-refraction, extra-low-dispersion lanthanum glass elements to produce a well-balanced image with minimal aberrations. The XW series features the American-standard 31.7mm for smooth, easy installation. When the rotatable eyecup is removed, it also offers an adapter-mounting screw/thread (43mm in diameter with a 0.75mm pitch).

I split Izar in the constelation Bootes with the XW 5mm (140x) in my 4â€ APO. For comfort, eye relief and ergonomics the Pentax XW Series are unbeatable. Once the adjustable eyecups are adjusted for your vision, viewing is relaxed and easy going. Optically, they are very sharp and contrasty. Build quality is top notch, made in Japan. The AFOV spec is 70 degrees but it seems a bit wider. Some reviews comparing the Delos with the XW Series agree that the Pentax XWs seem a bit wider. The XWs have spoiled me. When I try other eyepieces they are a let down for me.
